The objective is to communicate with your creditors and explain that your financial well-being has been compromised and so this has or will cause you to break your agreement with them, specifically, that you will no longer be able to meet the minimum payment requirements and/or other agreed upon amounts. Once this is accomplished then depending on the agreement, your credit report will reflect these changes as it is the obligation of your creditors to report such changes.
